    Stilts

Best off with 15”-23” stilts in my opinion if your 6’. I’m 5’9” and use 15”-23” most of the time and use 24”-40” for 2.7 and above.

Bostick plastering stabilising primer ( grit)

I’ve only used the green one once on an artex ceiling and it pulled in to quick. Have used BG’s a lot when I’m not paying for it and that’s the best one in my opinion, used it on all sorts of backgrounds and it makes mixed backgrounds pull in uniformly ( like plastering on board). I’m a PVA 80%...

    Dot and Dab help!!

Agree but make sure you don’t put too much in each hole or it’ll expand and convex the boards. Been there done that

    Work boots .trainers.

That’s the first thing I do, bin the insoles and replace them with superfeet insoles (green ones) game changer. I like the pull on dealer (riders) style boots, no laces to rot, easy to pull on and off and nothing to tangle up with stilt foot straps.

    Shoot me now

I’ve used the make good fast set bonding and it’s nice to use, can’t comment on on their regular bonding. Used their adhesive as well which had no problem with but it sets twice as fast as BG, Knauf etc.

I do the same but take screws out and put clouts in flush that way magnet pulls clouts straight out keeping screws clean.

    Underfloor heating

I’ve got 140mm under my porch/toilet extension, I’m sure the plans specifically 120mm but could be wrong. My room size is 4200/4800 both floor and ceiling are insulated ( floor suspended with rock wool) in hindsight shouldn’t have insulated ceiling because of burner.

    Underfloor heating

If you’re going to have a log burner I wouldn’t bother with any underfloor heating. I’ve got a 5kw burner and have to open the doors as it’s to hot if the doors closed. Soon as I’ve had my tea I end up nodding off for an hour, so does the wife. Make sure you don’t scrimp with the celotex under...

    Victas products

I’ve used the victus skim coat on wickes cement boards, like Topspread says follow the instructions for mixing and it’s like tile adhesive to apply. I dabbed the boards on with standard dab(1/3 of dabs) and tile adhesive dabs(2/3 of dabs) as I find the standard dab gets the initial grab and goes...

  23. Steve Brown

    Newly plastered wall is bumpy.

Yes it’s not the best!! Easy fix if you sand down the effected areas. Obviously sand the thick of it off first with a courser grit then finish off with a finer grit.

    Autofeed driver

Not sure if you mean yellow feed and black feed rather than handles? But if that’s the case yellow one is first generation and black is second generation. Sometimes 125mm ain't enough - suggestions for a decent 230mm angle grinder?

Everyone I’ve talked to that has Metabo tools has rated them highly, if I hadn’t already got as much Dewalt cordless I’d of went with them. But what’s their batteries like that’s what put me off Makita the batteries are not as good as Dewalt

    Sometimes 125mm ain't enough - suggestions for a decent 230mm angle grinder?

I’ve bought a couple of cheaper ones in the past (Macallister etc) and they burn out/ don’t work as well as a medium - high quality ones. 90% of my power tools are Dewalt but they didn’t have a 240v 9” grinder in stock so got a Makita and I can’t fault it. It’s night and day compared to the...

    K-Rend damp patches after rain

If the water is coming inside via the lintel/steels that means that a cavity tray wasn’t installed which should have been under today’s regs. Having said that a rendered wall would have prevented the driving rain from penetrating into the cavity. Without an inspection from a competent person...

    Usyk vs Joshua

Usyk will struggle with Fury I think Fury takes that one but. Usyk v Wilder will be an easy win for Usyk. Wilder has a better chance of beating Fury than he has Usyk. Just hope Fury doesn’t get careless with Wilder.

    Plasterboard falls off

Everything you’ve just explained is wrong. - Wrong spec plasterboard for 600 centres. - Too wide a spacing between screws (probably wrong length screws) - Too much plaster on board. You shouldn’t be working on people’s property.

Filling insulated plasterboard chases on external wall

Once the foam has cured cut it flat then dig it out about 10mm, pva it as plaster board edges will need it, fill it flush with bonding the scrim over chase the reskim. I personally would reskim whole wall but feather it if you want.
