Just show her you still love her mate...easy...if she loves dancing take her dancing...if she loves heavy metal take her to her rock concert or anything inbetween....after 40 years you know what puts a gleam in her eye so do that so she looks at you like it's 1982...and well done on 40 years
It's alright Andy wanting to ping chalk lines everywhere but you do that on a nottingham 1930's semi you'll make it look dog s**t....you'll take all the windows out and the frames out and your customer will be asking why the f**k did you do that to my house....and I'm sure Andy would stand there...
My point was no one cares...I've never met a customer who gave a shite other than their room looked nice.....I don't work on 10 million pound houses just normal working class semis and detached in a subsidence area where there houses are totally f**k*d out of square
Well thanks for calling me a good guy..I'm sure we'd laugh at this conversation over a pint...unlike most I've had many pints with many tpf members and the thing that came out of them all is..............they all thought I was a c**t
Think some of you lads think your rocket scientists the way you talk about boarding
And I'll be making just as much as you, probably more as I don't just plaster I do full conversions...I'm happy to be a mug and keep getting paid more and more and more
That's the point though...I don't care, I do it how's easiest for me and so it looks fine....I would never bother to look if that helps as I wouldn't be bothered what the answer was
Calm down studknit...I don't care how you do things, what you earn or where you work...and you also called me out apparently which I also don't care about. You make your money and I'll make mine...peace brother
Mate you've got me wrong...I couldn't give a shite what the right way is...I don't care in the slightest...I'll do it my way and you do it yours...keep slugging away lad on site for shite £ per m and make sure to remind me how good you are occasionally
I did a six week course and charged top brass from the day I finished it, infact i had jobs booked before i even started it ready...heading on 10 years ago now and absolutely raking it in during boom time...did six weeks in domestic electrics too...f**k everyone else go with your gut...everyone...
It's the principal...I'd spend a few grand fighting him and I'd be counter claiming for anything I could think of...loss of earning, damage to reputation, mental stress etc etc
It was a nightmare pete...its good in theory but just not worth the hassle...we gave it a good shot but I'm sure 2 sets by hand the 3 of us would have done more
The boil won't burst...the government will make courses and lower required standards to suit...I'm taught from 6 week courses....sparking and plastering and I do both fine
I knew mate you weren't denying it...my life is good now, I've two kids and the tools to tackle it...I feel for the lads that don't have them tools as there will be so many more than we think
Dan,
As you know I have bi polar disorder, I suffer with episodes of psychosis and obsessive compulsive disorder (I count how many times I swallow a day to work out as an average what is normal for me)
I understand that some people like tonym are dubious having never suffered but mental health...
Think people forget there's a difference between being self employed and making a wage and having a business and making a wage and that business also making a profit
Yes you should contact him as it isn't right and I totally agree you need a job that's right. My only point was don't judge him or her too harshly, plaster and light are funny things...if that was done on a dull overcast day and the spread ( apparently foolishly) used a flexible trowel to...
Its not perfect but in all photos its got horrible light shining down it....even the ones in 'natural daylight' look like low morning sun belting right down it, you can tell by the shadows its casting on the sofa
