@lurpack so whilst were slinging mud this is where im at an avarage 2 up 2 down terrace round these parts is apx 3.6 x 3.6.

A spread on average around these parts would charge no more than £150 per day for skimming work.

90% would allow themselves 2 days plus materials.

Based on your figures your also allowing the same 2 days plus materials but your charging a plasterer out at £325 a day.

I can catogorically tell you nobody would pay that in south yorkshire.

I decide what I want for doing it and tell them.

It’s either booked in there and then or they text me after getting more quotes.

I don’t get all the work I quote but im
Booked well into 2019 if that puts it into perspective.

I also don’t give a f**k what anyone else charges.

The customer knows the price and time it will take and also they know it will be done properly. It’s up to
Them if they go with me or not.

In my opinion you doing a living room with artex ceiling for £300 is disgusting and quite honestly I expected better from you.

It’s a hard game that isn’t kind on the body.

The same goes for Manchester. If a joiner wanted £325 a day to swing new doors for me I'd laugh my b*ll***s off at him . In the trade or not

£4/450 is around the mark, skimming only, up North.
 
What’s day rate got to do with anything?

I’ve worked for £200 a day for builders turn up skim board and go. Nice break tbh.

Private domestic jobs are price.
 
F*ck that I’m out to make as much as I possibly can whilst I’m fit and able,stick day rates up yer a*se bang a quote in if you get it happy days and if you don’t oh well
Next please,2.50 per metre on site is actually borderline slave labour
 
I price domestics on this basis..day rate+materials then i add 50% extra for me getting materials then add more ontop of my day rate..works 80% of time..try it lads :coffe:

Your really missing the point!

Firstly my comment was tongue in cheek at nearer to half price as 650 labour would be totaly unachievable around here fir such a small job.

I actualy would be more but that is because i only do repeat/referrel work and am not im direct competition that said there is still a ceiling price that you would hit around here for such a small job.

I also would be up selling the job to include overboarding the ceiling and again increase the job price but still complete in same time.

That said im basing my comments on a regional price not a personal price.

And what i am saying stands 90% would be there or there abouts what i have quoted.

For what its worth i earn a wage off 2 plasterers every week so believe me i kniw my business!

I hate it but it’s inevitable when chatting about site vs domestic proper spread pathetic spread etc

The best spread is the one who does less and earns more.

You work every singe Sunday.

We just have 2 different outlooks. 2 different opinions. And that’s ok.
