Weeks work £1800 inc materials in nicer end of town
Got undercut by a decent spread by £500

I dont work every sunday, but as said before there are times when jobs are running over and other commitments clash and if needed we keep our schedules on track.

Dont forget we have multiple jobs and sites on the go at the same time all with there own schedules and problems.

Not to mention we have external render works that we have to grab dry days and sometimes th at has to be the weekend.

Im a business not just a 1 man band this month alone ive got nearly 30k tied up on jobs, materials, wages, scaffold etc.

Jobs need to be pushed out to draw money, cashflow is king.

Ye £200 a day is ok but that depends on wat ur doing,if u think £200 a day is good 4 lets say skim 4 walls in a living room then its s**t but its good 4 lets say patching a few chases..i charged £150 cash a few weeks ago to patch in 6 chases coming up from floor to socket height..took me 2 hrs..1 coat plaster..was on another job at 10.45

who the f**k is charging domestic out on a day rate? Do you ask them how much their day rate is ? Its non of there f**k**g buisness how much you want to make a day, you charge them for the job and they value how much the job is worth to them.

Why are you skimming full living room artex ceilings for 300 quid then you mugget . Surely that's chump change to a business dealing with 360k a year?


 
Zombie is probably right at £150 max in South Yorkshire. I know skimmers who will feel rich at £120 a day. Even time served good lads can be got for £120 a day. But with continuous work labour only.

I do know of others who are more on the ball and supply labour And materials but want £200. They are very good though and clean.

South Yorkshire is a nice place to live but it has its bad Council Estate areas and ethnic areas like many West Yorkshire areas. Or any other UK town or City.

But housing is cheap here. You don’t need a mortgage over £100k as a first time buyer.

Harrogate and York is North Yorkshire and a different wealth altogether. Quite affluent. A bit like the borough of Hallam in Sheffield.

Id get 500 ish Labour around here if recommended. And sometimes if the jobs goes for you, you can knock them off in a day

If not recommended and was competing I probs would lose job as competition would price at 150 a day for couple of days.

I won't work if I can't clear 250.
