Unifinsh on sand/cement
I will spare you the troubles asking about air test:D
And when I say, high standards I mean high standards . Sometimes when I see pictures of them domestic jobs makes me think only coursers are on domestic:D. On site, this will never happen ;)

With your experience with both can you tell me which you prefer?
Carlite or multifinish?
Or no different?
Genuine question
Carlite was mint on floated walls and went a lot further I would prefer that on floated walls but one plaster that does all wins hands down for me.

Interesting
Thanks for your honesty...

So when multifinish arrived in the merchants and carlite was fazed out I am presuming alot of plasterers were not to happy about that?

Your question is very leading but I will go with it :) it happened around the time I was doing my apprenticeship between 88 and 92 so I didn't really use a merchants or buy materials. I didn't do a single job until I served my time of four years I didn't want to get a bad name. It probably got faced out a few years after I can't remember, also just to add I never learnt how to dot and dab a board in my apprenticeship coz that wasn't done neither. Fibre tape I don't think arrived till about 92/94 it was bandage and hessian and also clout nails.

Board finish better than multi. More body in it.
Carlite great on backing plasters, great to spread & flatten, best on backing where there was a bit of suction.
It's just the handiness of multi that wins out, use it everywhere of course.

On the subject of multi, is it still taking about 5hrs to set? I know you can finish it in an hour and a half in decent climate but I mean to properly set.

View attachment 11009 Meanwhile over at my local B&Q, I wouldn't buy out of date plaster at the same price as multie in date, you would have to be an idiot.
Meanwhile back at B and Q today :( spoke to the lads who work on trade and asked is it the DIY market that's buying it he said yes one bag here and there but not many plasterers. You would think at this incredible price it would be gone five days later? Could be longer I haven't been in for a few weeks.

Hmmmmm might grab a bag of it if it goes any lower, use it on that shitty job I've been doing the joinery on for a few weeks, they don't give a f**k and the plastering is shocking and falling off anyway lol
