So anyway the senior guy did his 7 year - yep 7 YEAR- apprentice with a firm called Phillips which has since gone tits up but he says it was a great firm to train with cos they taught him every aspect even down to mixing his own plaster for coving. But now lamenting how someone does a 6 month course and calls themselves a plasterer and to a customer a Plasterer is a Plasterer until they leave it looking rough as hell by which time it's too late
So I says don't you have like a professional body to accredit you, to sort the wheat from the chaff. Maybe like the federation of master builders so when you go out to to price jobs you can say your accredited by xyz, he says there isn't one hence the wild west situation.
Is there one out there though?
