Happy to bet on that if you want, big shot.
Post a picture of your last months CIS statement, I bet you're full of s**t just like your buddy earning "very very good money" on £2.50 Sqm lol. site bashing will never be as lucrative as large private work, even if you're big potato Charlie the...
To be clear, I don't give a s**t if you want to one coat and sponge on £2.50 Sqm... but it's not the best way to plaster, you're cutting corners because it's the only way you can make that dogshit rate pay. That is the discussion bud.
If you're wife has great career let her feed the family...
I wouldn't get out of bed for that rate mate, immove elsewhere and earn double ? I don't live in Mayfair, in fact I live in one of the less salubrious parts of the world, but there are plenty of people here with money that will pay if you're clean and your work is good enough.
One of the truest...
Bet 20inchlover and all the other sponge float lovers are site bashers. You can't use one coat, water sprayers and sponge floats on million pound houses. It makes a mess and one coating will never be as good as two coats. Passable yes, but some of us strive to be the best we can be, not just...
Kitchy got it on the nose. s**t job and client making the "I can't afford this" noise = find a new build with a rich scadsnavian woman who has pots of wealth ! :)
Draft def sets it off and you can get tearing.
Was so hot today we did 2 sets and had a room done by 12.30 !!! How you boys can work on that abroad f**k knows. Sat in the beer garden now though for my pains !! :)
Sponge floating is ok if you're an average spread. If you're good, you'll get just as good or better finish with a quicker set and less mess without.
When you work in nice private houses, mess needs to be absolutely minimal and sponge floats are not the cleanest.. If I was doing site work and...
Why would you ever agree to work for that ?
I would rather go hungry than be extorted like that. Go into site agents office and tell him to stick his poxy job up his arse.
Depends how well you can use a tape and a pencil I guess.. If you set the edge of your boards plumb, a tape will be accurate. It's all preference I guess ? I also don't like cutting out the board from the back as it can tear and is less neat.
I can see your me getting a little hot and bothered...
Efficient doesn't just mean fastest. I don't want to lug boards around more than necessary.
Tell you what kitchy, we could have a race one day
You can tap the boards and I'll measure and draw on them. My level vs your chalk line :)
What about using a tape and a pencil to mark electrical boxes ? Then cut them out with a pad saw!
I'm all up for an easy job, but there's no way moving the board several times is more efficient than measuring, unless you enjoy humping plasterboards for fun!

These guys are a mix of trades that work for the same developer as us. All the names are made from our lab who is obviously absolutely mental...
Knauf spec is solid dab around the perimeter of the board and one line of dabs through the middle of the board. I find dabbing with a finishing trowel superior to a bucket trowel, however 2 guys I employ use bucket trowels with just as good results.
I've got a pool to render next week. Client has asked for a sand and cement render, it's made of blockwork and is square.
Mix ratio/additives ? Discuss >>
Use Hilti gx120 shots to fix to the steel. Get a dryliner to mf into the steel and then hardibacker/CP board. Rendaid and some mesh and bingo was his name o
RGB is the exact place I've been getting this s**t 50/50 from.. That's why I've been mixing my own..
I'm originally from Dorset/Hampshire, used to get lovely fluffy blonde stuff there which rubbed up lovely :(
There is 2 stop heads on the "roulette board@ part. This isn't necessary... But the fitter hadn't got the frame bang on and it was the best way to get everything to line up !
hoping for Bobby to see this one as I know he's a local lad
I'm based in Devon and the plastering sand here is shite. Red 50/50 they call it. It's got huge stones and pebbles in it and it runs up like s**t in the beads unless you set them into of the scratch leaving a thicker topcoat etc etc...
Been doing lots of these recently. The amount of work to board and set one room is insane !
Anyone else do conservatories ? So hot atm if you out on more than a bag you're a mad man !!
Took my pup to work today. Client had a black lab also and said no problem bring yours in too. Put him in the garden area and closed gate.
After walking round the house with the client we came back outside to find my dog fuckimg hers up against the kids wendyhouse He was giving her a right...
