Im not doing a tap until new year. I'm sitting pretty tonight though as I'm with my little one while my missus is working until midnight. Might crack a couple of beers open later
Kettle is always on. Been busy as hell with work and the house. Should be getting face bricks up this week. As for the pics they are stuck to the public toilet door where I do most of my dogging
Woo hoo. It's an early Xmas in the Jack household. Well done to Oli and Jess for the organisation. An extra thank you to @JessThePlasterer for the private pics you sent to my inbox for christmas. I'd post them on here but they are far to raunchy for public viewing. Especially the gang bang pic
Hi mate. What diameter size are the pillars. Any pics? Burnishing isn't too hard on a pillar as the outward curve doesn't restrict your trowel movement. It is easier to do if you move vertically up and down as you trowel. Kind of in a diagonal motion so the whole of your trowel edge stays in...
I fancy fury for this. He's changed phenomonly and got his act together. I'm hoping for a very fast and aggressive new man. Won't be getting though as the odds are poor for a straight result
Wow. A personal mention. I should be worried. Only just read the post so good evening algee. Been a pants day really. Brickie cancelled on my house today due to weather. So I started trying to find the foul drain in the garden at back. All the houses surrounding mine and no one has a man hole...
Oh dear. What is there I'm company name. Should put it up so no one else buys from them. I k i.e. it doesn't help much now but it's worth researching products and companies. If you want to continue with micro cement I can personally vouch for Actris who are in the UK
I can't remember for the life of me what they were called. For big jobs we used a twin arm large roller and squeegee with a swivel head to move the sealers about. How are you using foam. Normally most sealers that are 2 part react with foam and make it a swell up and fall off the roll. I've...
We got a job dropped 2 weeks ago for a similar thing. 3 bedrooms 're skim and living room wanted overboard ceiling and chimney breast and a complete plaster all round and board bathroom.Little bit of patching in hall. Woman who owns it has it as one of her rentals. After accepting price she rang...
Posted yesterday and at 7 pages already. Must be a record. I'm not reading through the next 6 pages so there's a good chance my comment is a duplicate. I'm with smudger on the name. We call them charge marks too. As far as the plastering goes the job is either right or it's not. If there are...
Maybe they could use hemp plastic. Much better for the environment. It degrades much quicker. The plaster would still go out of use by date before the plastic degrades too
So the fish probably aren't arses about time of year and temperature etc but other than standing out in the cold is this time of year still good for getting the rod out. There is a small chance of getting out for a day on weekend but if fish are like birds and fly South for the winter is the...
So it's been a bit of a process and a learning curve but I've finally finished the centre piece of the house ready for the log burner. It's a compass in micro cement and a little Venetian plaster. I created my slab from concrete and stone then made the top smooth and neat with a bit of self...
I understand now. You have one of those stick on tile personal appliances and the more room space you have the longer the appliance can be fitted :LOL:
That would be 2 layers. An initial layer applied and left to dry shock provides a base and gives suction for a second layer. On the second coat the plaster is scratched back when nearly dry to get a travertine effect then trowelled some more to close in to how you want it
Hi mate. Welcome to TPF. It's hard to explain how yo achieve what your after. Vfr has nailed it on the head though really. Look at this image
This would be a way to base out one of the pics you added. Creating a vertical drag with this as a base then go on top with a medium to fine grain...
Don't get me wrong. I would advise against it. Not because it doesn't work but eventually the room will get smaller and smaller. I'm always for knocking back to base and starting again
I've done it before. Was using plas prime. The green stuff. Dabbed straight onto it. Tested it on glass too. Multi straight onto the grit and it worked. Need to stick to manufacturer instructions for drying. Tho k most say 24 hours
Nice. More importantly the crate reminds me how much I love polish lager. Used to get tyskie from a shop near me.
As for that Friday feeling I'm having the day off today to attend a wedding. Should be well inebriated by early afternoon :burlas::popcorn:
Quite east really. Make a box frame out if whatever you like. Metal or wood. When boarding it imaging you let a total wastercut the boards for you. Don't have the edges nice and neat. Plenty of scrim on every joint. Slap on a thick bonding coat nice and heavy. As it's drying out use brush...
I'm getting the impression you haven't plastered before mate. Which is not a problem normally but I think your biting off quite a bit. If the plaster is sound then you can apply micro cement to it and it can be a waterproof system. There is a process and it depends on the manufacturer but...
Hi mate. As mentioned micro cement will do the job for walls and floors. Waterproof when finished and most suppliers offer 30 plus colours. When doing a complete wet room I've used impey system before and not had a problem. There are quite a few on the market now
So are.sponges for one coat or two. Seems to be a mix throughout the thread even if it's been revived from way back when. Never tried a sponge but always good to learn something
I'll never tell ha ha.
I've made a hearth for a double sided log burner. Finished it in micro cement and fancied a compass in the middle. The burner will be centred over it with feet raising it 100mm off the ground. I'm hoping it turns out something nice
No worries mate. You can buy 2 types. One with mesh and one without. The one without gets pinned to wall then stud frame in front and board as usual. For the one with mesh you dab boards onto it directly. Ideally the adhesive shouldn't touch the plastic plugs. If it's going to fail anywhere...
