Re: just been made redundant can anyone help me!!! i think that most of the spreads on the forum get alot of work from local paper ads why dont you give it a go if you know any joiners get in touch with them you can sometimes get them to throw a bit of work your way cant think of any other...

dri wall should always be applied to the wall then the boards did they not teach you this on your course?you should always leave a few inches gap at the bottom aswell :)

doesnt sound mad to me infact you might be on to something there your right plastic prob wont absorb the moisture from the plaster like wood does might give it a try myself ;)

a think these 4 day courses are a waste of time n money anyway what are you goin to learn in 4 days a think if you do decide to do a course go to college n learn for atleast a year you could even get an apprenticship theres no age limit anymore

what about carpets that are tacked down shurley thats an arse on puttin it back down bloke a was workin with just used to put dust sheets down on carpets n like you say dirty water went through to the carpet but he didnt give a foook dont know how he got the work half the time sayin that he used...

youll be lucky if you can get that many days work a week especially at tho mo and just startin out

thing that they dont relise is if you show willing and pay attention you can stay out of factories and earn a decent wage but kids dont wanna start at the bottom they want huge pay and think they should be doin the job straight away not sweepin up n mixin.

the apprenticship a was gonna do was 250 aweek for training which isnt bad n the welding side of things a was working in a factory n it was like a black hole a fookin hated it

a went to the jobcentre n asked if there was any courses n did a 6month couse learning the basics then did me own room n a couple of jobs for people i know then got took on by a local spread

a went to college n got a level 2 in weldin got a job doin it n hated it a tried to get a modern apprentiship as a gas fitter didnt get it didnt think a would wanna be a sparky or a joiner n thought wat else is left the thing is av never like any work av done then a learned to plaster n loved it...
