Knauf Airless

Bobby didn't comment on Yorkshire prices though did he, he said he was happy skimming and getting £6m2 for it. You just seem bitter that he's charging more than you.
I'm not bitter wezly I said he wudnt get £6m2 down here then he did his famous oh dear sarcastic high n mighty bobby reply then he tagged me in another topic thread about prices with a laughing emoji which u havnt seen..

What sort of projects? Just seems very low. The QS we use would say that's there is no margins for over heads an d profit at that, so what's the point in taking on the liability?

Not having a dig

This is appartment block..got another block of appartments in Leeds aswell nxt year..theres no overheads etc we get paid on invoice every 3 weeks only risk Is 2 skimmers wages we've got on but that wudnt cripple us tbh..we are doing well on It tbh so profit Is there we only make 50p m2 on skimmers so there prob make us £300-£400 a week then we do all the boarding plus any skimming If there behind

Look at it this way Currie..skimmers earn us between £60-80 a day pending how there feeling then we are getting £3m2 and there's 2 of us and we wil easily do 180-200m2 boarding a day its on metal stud, all party walls are double boarded so £6m2 on them and 90% of Job Is plain 12.5mm boards..plenty of profit margin there

Cool what ever works for you if your making good money that's all that matters.

Just like us doing airless 90% of the time

As always plasterers are nobs
Knobs for wat? Explaining how we make it pay on m2 we are getting after getting bombarded with comments asking me to explain how we make it pay etc? In my opinion if u cant make that rate pay ur shite...some people on here live in cloud cockoo land..

Wats that got to do with skimming? Are you Yorkshire area? I cant comment on ur prices as I'm not from ur way so how can you or bobby comment on Yorkshire prices? Have u ever set foot in Yorkshire? If you read thru my thread I said u cant put £6m2 in Yorkshire are u mite get away with where ur from but u wont in yorkshire
I don't know why your getting yourself in a pickle over prices
I've been a member of the forum from the early years and I understand that costs will vary across the country
It is what it is
My family is from Yorkshire and visit there regually.
3.75 labour only isn't to bad from what I've heard others are getting up north

Chill out brother

It snowballed like It always does on here, wen sum1 chips in with comparing carpets to skimming still dont get that by the way and I was fighting my corner on our prices plus u did tag me in another thread bobby pissing urself about a builder paying £10m2 plus (course he is by the way) wasn't all aimed at you I'm not just guna sit here and take s**t just because I'm not in the circle of trust and been on forum years f**k that..off to work now on my £6.70m2 just cried in my cornflakes with the rate I'm getting I dnt know how I survive

I'm with @Kitchy.
If you live up North the prices he is on about are good. I know a few lads that are on quite a bit less than that. No choice...that's the price.
If you can't make them work then you aren't really a spread.

First of all I'd like to thank kanuf for putting up with me today lol I know am a bit forward and say what I think lol. What did I think of the airless. It's a piece of piss to use. U could take on a young lad that never plastererd before and have him doing the hole system in less than 2 weeks tbh. The taping involved is easy just put your joint compound on put your tape on and trowel it that's it. U can use scrim. But something with fire regulations on some jobs. So we sprayed the first coat on u put less on then I thought u would. But I could see why when I troweld it. It was easyr the close it in and less trowelling. We then did the 2nd coat on a other panel that was ready the day before I think. We sprayed it give it a spat or trowel and that was it. We then did a bit of sanding on a other wall. It is really easy to sand tbh. If I was doing a job with it I wouldn't try and finish it fully with the trowel even though u can. I'd use a electric telescopic sander with a dust hover connected to it. As am a lazy b*****d lol but it can be finished by trowel no problem. Am going to use it on my next job am going to hire out a machine and see how I get on in the real world but I can't see there being a problem tbh. I'd say it's a 3 day finish or maybe 2. The finish is top end and can be achieved by a novice which is worrying. The airless plaster is a lot lot easier on the body for sure. Skim still has its place for small jobs. But anything that would take 3 days or more i would use the airless finish. Downside for me would be the taping. I would say go and have a go of it for sure.

I suppose the only way to find out is to get set up with it and then see what the finish is like when painted
Nice 1 clemo

Am going to use a bag in my house she is doing my head in about painting the bedrooms in the house so I'll try a bag on one of the walls am going to roll it on to see how that goes. I was told today u can add a cup of water to a bag and mix it up we will see.
