Pricing a job

@pageys got all the gold buried in his back garden..
In all seriousness I think competition much bigger in and around London locals and foreigners plus you got lots of firms coming down from north chasing big money, how it's worth it for them no idea. Roads are crap after 6-6:30 and no way around it. People paying 140-150 for a days work on high end stuff in central London, is a joke. Gardeners earn more money than that.
Been up in Birmingham last week even at 8am the roads were good.

I struggle to understand how and y people actually live in London I dnt know how there survive we charge £150 a day wen on day rate which Is rare as I dnt like day work but £150 a day in London terms is peanuts I imagine

Supply and demand in London best rate is probably as zolco said 150 at the top end and if you don't like it someone else will do for same or cheaper, unless you are in with good builders who do pay the extra that's what you will get and £3 is generous in London apparently, that's why site work is not for me I'm not fast enough to make that pay

Cant believe its £3m2 in London..cant believe I was getting ripped for saying we were getting £3.70 lol..must be Devon where its all happening then and not London isn't bobby from Devon and he's paying £6 and that fake account in orangemachineman

there is bundles of work at the moment and loads of shite spreads

If you look across London it's nothing but cranes on high rise buildings being done I gave up site work ages ago probably when recession hit and have never gone back I like my domestics I can charge parking ect onto my price,I know you get the ag on domestics but the rates just don't suit me especially as nothing was ever ready and the promise of "day work" to sort all the crap out never comes have a look on line for plastering jobs in London best you will see is 13-14 top end 15 an hour and you can imagine the stoppages some will take can't you

The money in London is based on property prices, they've doubled in 3 yrs. If you bought your property 5/6 yrs ago you'd probably be ok. Nowadays it's ridiculous. I'm thinking of selling up and buying Yorkshire :bailando:

It's not top end but that's what I hear as a day rate on sites but it can be complete utter bullshit. Domestic is different game, ask Irish

Only reason I see most will vote out is to stop the Syrian and other refugees coming in. People say they don't want eu migrants here to take their trade, on the other hand I don't think that getting commonwealth migrants in who take the highest paid jobs will go down well either but loads here already, but you can't target them cos then you called a racist. As a migrant myself I haven't seen any strong evidence to stay or leave the EU. Only pitfall that only 25% of existing eu migrants will get a working visa rest can pack and leave, but I'm sure there will be a way around it. I never bothered to get uk citizenship but now I'm in the process, takes a year just to get permanent residency as they changed the law last November then I have to have that for a year before applying for citizenship even though I'm a permanent resident for ten years and having worked from day dot and only had 2 months of unemployment between 2 jobs but never claimed anything ever. I'm almost certain that most people will vote leave, if that makes the uk to leave or they will just use it for bargaining with the eu nobody knows

Weird really a bloke I do a lot of work for isn't cheap here in Bristol.

when he gets basement conversios and skim downs in London he charges almost 3x sometimes more than a Bristol price?

I.always thought London was good money I get paid almost double on a day rate there plus digs and food.
