IN my experience the screed just did not set , and was soft......

Of frost damage to a screed/render that is outside ?? and are there test's that can be carried-out to establish if there has in-fact been damage ? thanks guys for all replies ......

OK it's not a system for houses, its for swimming pools !how much REAL cover do you get from system manufactures ? they will run for the hills and blame workmanship straight away any case . Its a bit like when you are cards-in / or self-employed if the work isn't there it isn't there you will...

well this system seems to be selling very well , i have used 1 roll on the pool we are just finishing and we have just taken a deposit for a pool in north London which my use two roll's also looking for a good supplier of SBR for the mix, in 100-205 ltr containers ... if you know of any...

i'am trying to put my own system together guys, i did telephone a few system suppliers but they wanted £70 a roll.....!!!

To get hold of rolls of mesh 1m x 50m for embedding into render please ? the last lot was pink and really crap,all fraying on the edges !!......

Yes mate i never really rub-up now just trowel,no straight edge's, i'am trying to come -up with my own product based on this material for pools, did you know that the SBR actually speeds-up the set of the cement ? from about 40-50 mins to 15-20 mins ?.......

I use the same to render swimming pools over insulation boards ! but i embed mesh into it strong as fook , and i love working with it , if you give it a very light flash /mist of water it will rub-up a treat !, i never rub-up just trowel on and trowel-up finished ......

Is the render mix dry sand and cement ? then you add the SBR instead of water. or are you using ordinary sand cement and water then adding SBR......?

IN large volumes please anyone , say 100 ltrs or 205 ltrs at a time . Thanks for any replies guys........

He was on the tilersforum asking for ex -military tilers as well ....... when i worked in Glasgow where we stayed all the green filters out of the traffic -lights disappeared ,i said to my mate what sort of a prick does that !! then the penny dropped and we realised we were staying in a staunch...

Thanks Ryan . I think i have a v-large 12mm notched Trowel that would suit this job perfectly ........ so what do you modified render guys use the serrated straight edge for ?

With other stuff from Rafina ,i was planning on rendering on to Styrofoam then ruling -of with the said straight edge ,then applying the cloth-mesh then a second coat over to embed the mesh !! is this right please ??......

These new one's come with a built -in roof -rack !!! you just do something and it come-up out of the existing roof .........

How about if you mixed it with SBR instead of water then ? you are adding polymers !! it would go-off like rock and stick like ship to a blanket......:-)

yep it is very expensive over here for the fire service to fill a pool , also it is too quick and can shock the shell as you should never put to much water in in 24 hour cycle the structure needs time to expand slowly .....

Somebody told me they are to get air-bubbles out of weber and polymer rich mortars ..... above sound good to me though :-)

well the prep we did was to power-wash it down , then acid wash it and then another water wash to neutralise any acid ,then tile with a special polymer rich adhesive , oh we fixed top-quality tile bead on the edges of the steps ,so the client will be able to see the steps as they enter the pool...

Funny you said that , i used to work with a scouser who's idea of cleaning his tools was to stand on the edge of the pool with his trowels in a bucket first thing in the morning ,and just throw them up-in -the air so they all came tumbling down on the floor of the pool, thats them fooking...

I spay mine with wd40 after work front and back ,have done for years and it just stops the steel ones from rusting and keeps the work/face clean but the backs are dirty not thick but dirty ....

Tyzack & Marshalltown steel trowels i use them for most of my rendering then wash and spray with WD40 and put away ,i could cut your head -off with one swing they are that sharp :-)

As john , there is to-much of this crap going-on around the country, we are living in a claim society now and if these unscrupulous rat's of people think they can save a pound then they will try and rip-you-off , don't have any of it mate !! go round and make it clear if he messes with you then...

I think a labourer is a labourer and should never be taught to plaster as he will be off undermining -us all, and we have had to make sacrifices to become plasterers in the first place ! its like the government letting all these foreigners in, this all undermines us who are working tradesmen and...
