Hi I live in Surrey and looking at getting some Lime training. Wondered if any of you might be able recommend a course happy to travel but not more than 150 miles. Thank, Grant
Cheers bubbles. I really wasn't attacking Refina.Do they think I work for some plastering supplier, trying to slag off the competition, no like the rest of us on here I work my tits off :RpS_scared: every day.
All I wanted to know is, has anyone had trouble with getting a refund. Wasn't looking for argument. The reason why I don't post or use this site very much, is because people like you. Which is a shame really.
Spoke to refina today they have just processed the refund yesturday. Just for the...
If they can process taking the money the same day, surely they can process returning within 24 hours. Plus why should we have to chase to get our money back. Going to give that plasterers1stopshop ago.
Hi, has anyone had trouble getting a refund from REFINA. I order some tools from them on Wednesday Morning paid by credit card. They called Wednesday afternoon to tell one of items wasn't available so we agreed to cancel the order. The money went out of my account Wednesday. The money has not...
Hi looking for a plasterer to give me hand for a week in Ewhurst. Could lead on to more, as I have a 400 sqm new build to start in a few weeks. must have own van and tools.
Thanks
Grant
Went to start a job today, when prepping the walls the artex Started to come Off to reveal lime plaster walls. I told the customer to get a lime specialist in. But they are not keen to pay the price for this. So I know this is not the correct Way but could I apply thistle bond over the walls...
Not sure where you are from Spunky but in Dorking I know no plasterer charging £65.00 an hour. An hour working day £520. Wish we could but I don't like to rip people off. Fcuk me plumbing is all plastic and push fit.
Just look at this post i found on a site, regarding a plumber price.
well my prices start from a minimum 110 thas for the call out and the first hour labour free and any diagnosis, personally I think we should not be charging less than 65 per hour for your mates
Make you sick.

That's so true, plumbers are the worse I know a plumber who work on the oil side of it £420.00 a day will not give a price all day rate. The thing is with plumbers and sparks they charge £60-£80 min for the smallest job ie change a switch or washer, some thing simple, and customer will not...
Sounds spot on to me, That's the price I would give for me and my mate £280.00 a day 2 plasterers. 4 Years ago we could get £340.00 a day and diesel was 95p then. It's **** really our money has drop but road tax van insurance and public liabilty tools and every else has all gone up 20%-40%...
I was on Diclofenac 50mg for 18 months. Did help a bit. Now and again I go to the doc's to some more very good to keep in van. Catch it early can help keep the pain at bay:RpS_sneaky:
Yes checkatrade(about £580.00 a year) is good and also local parish magazines (£50-£95 a year) One of them I get 4-6K a year every year and that's the £50.00 one. A very good return:RpS_love:. Recommendation is best and it's free, but that takes time I have been working for myself for 10...
Thanks for the replies on this topic. I went down SBR slurry mix in the end. Seemed to work well builder happy. Front on the house done. Rain forecast in Dorking tomorrow:RpS_thumbdn:. Just want to complete it before the real cold weather set in. Would of tried Microgobetis but couldn't find a...
I had Tennis elbow(left hawk arm) for 18 months 2 years. Rest is best as i broke my heel and had 2 weeks of work (should have been 6/12 weeks put being SE only had 2. no one would help with mortgage ).That really helped, how I keep it strapped up as much as possible. But my left foot for over 2...
Hi am hoping to start this rendering tomorrow, so you are saying don't SBR slurry just paint neat SBR onto the old scratch coat. Will the new top coat sick ok without the slurry mix? and if I paint it on neat do you let dry first or should it be tacky like the slurry mix. Thanks
Good morning, the builder we are working for as gunned of the old pebble dash but the scratch coat will not move. So i was thing get them to wash it down get rid of the dust and muck. Then we can fix plastic beads SBR it then top coat with an 5-1-1 mix with render mix added. or could we use...

Yes we have done in the pass, but the course fibers tend to break through the surface, but will cover when top coat applied. Then add the fine ones to mix for the top coat. just out of interest have you tried adding bonding and dropping on your knees facing east and praying to the sand and...
Why did you not say that in the first place. I was only a question you got all nasty before it began. You do not know my work so how can you be so judgmental. Thanks for the info I will see if can find it.
Just one other thing I though the idea of this forum was to get help and ask for advise from other plasterer. As for my is rendering is fine I have seen a lot worst then mine and better to. I do a good job and that's way I was asking for some advise on this. That's how we all pick thing up...
So charge about £80.00 an hour? That more then my plumber mate he is £65.00 an hour(£420.a day) no wonder you are happy. I would finish at 11 if i earned £200 as well:RpS_biggrin:
Hi have been talked into 2 rendering jobs, didn't really want to them this time of year but don't like to let people down. So I was wondering in anyone has a good mix for this time of year something that set a bit quicker then normal as it now cold and damp in the air. Any help I would be most...

Today we went in to overboard a living room ceiling and skim wall:RpS_thumbup:. All started well got ceiling boarded PVA the walls:RpS_laugh: . Put the ceiling on with a couple of walls, just putting on the second coat on the walls notice about the height of were the picture would have been...
