    anybody else ever second coat a big set get all washed out go flattening then get to the wall round the corner or something and think f**k i never put a second coat on it >:( and you have to scramble about getting it off the other walls and out the rubbish bag.

    did u use frozen pva :D no only joking,first coat would of dried very quick on s+c probably would of firmed up after a couple of minutes of putting it on, you want to pva it up nicely put your first coat on as flat as you can then (dont wait) put your second coat on straight away then get back...

    its natural stone no cavity so imo very prone to penatrating damp/salts so if its not window ect. I would either lime it (best option i would think) or thoraseal it then s+c it, ive sin people sbr then s+c with no problems 2 years on but i would not recommended that. Personaly i cant believe...

    seems a fair price to me,usually charge 300 + mats for that sort of thing, covered yourself for two days work,so what you got it done a little quicker thats your gain not his,used your tools and skill and agreed the price if he wanted it done for 225 he should not of agreed 350

    cracking on gypsum plaster

    i usually look hard for any original cracks and scrim em and i use bond it instead of pva not really had a problem doing that,but i always sort any blown areas aswell. fill em and sand em should sort them
